Condenser Coils are fluid to air to fluid heat exchangers. Generally constructed from copper tubes mechanically expanded into aluminum plate fins with self-spacing collars to ensure efficient heat transfer. Removing the heat from the refrigerant is condenser coil duty. After the gas refrigerant is pressurized and heated in the compressor, it enters the condenser coil. Here, two things happen. The gas refrigerant transfers its heat to the air blowing over it. Simultaneously, the refrigerant cools and turns into a liquid. The air around the coil will start to heat up and is blown out of the outdoor unit.
